Odds are likely that it has been a long time since you last purchased a CD. More likely you have downloaded music and stored it on a portable device (i.e. iPod, iPhone or other mp3 player). Your first attempt at playing a portable music player on your factory car stereo likely ended in you hearing more awful static than you possibly thought or having a mess of wires coming out of your radio. Lets face it your vehicles CD Player just does not cut it anymore. If you have loaded your new music onto a Apple iPod/iPhone© you probably want to hear it on your factory radio in CD quality while your driving around. Our advice group has come up with a checklist for adding a dedicated Apple iPod/iPhone© input to your car stereo.

Checklist for adding a Apple iPod/iPhone© Adapter to your vehicle

  • Charge my Apple iPod/iPhone© Battery
  • Ability to change the song playing without touching my iPod/iPhone
  • Automatically turn off my iPod/iPhone when I turn off my car
  • Turn on Random mode (shuffle) from your factory stereo buttons
  • Have a way to control my iPod/iPhone music from the device itself, if desired
  • Additional Aux Input - Just in case you ever get a device that doesnt have a Apple dock connector on it

The PA15-ACUXL from USA Spec is a plug-and-play interface that allows you to input your Apple iPod/iPhone© & a aux input. We describe both inputs and the way each integrates with your factory radio below.

  • Apple iPod/iPhone© (cable included)
  • RCA Auxiliary Audio Input
  • Apple iPod/iPhone©: Allows different modes to control your Apple iPod/iPhone© from your factory radio/steering wheel controls. Your Apple iPod/iPhone© charges while connected in any mode you choose. It will also pause and stop charging when you turn off your vehicle. For more info about compatible Apple iPod/iPhone© models see the Compatibility Notes tab.
  • ADVANCED MODE: Advanced Controls of your Apple iPod/iPhone© thru the factory stereo, Displays Text on your Nav Screen. Allows you to browse your iPod by Playlist, Artist, Album or Track from your radio buttons/steering wheel controls. Your Apple iPod/iPhone© music control is only thru the radio. Does not disable the factory satellite radio or traffic feature. While you are in this mode your Apple iPod/iPhone© music controls are locked out.
  • SIMPLE MODE: Basic Controls thru the factory stereo. Allows you to track up/down the songs on your Apple iPod/iPhone© from your radio buttons/steering wheel controls. This mode is capable in all compatible vehicles and regardless of which mode you are using. While you are in this mode your Apple iPod/iPhone© music controls are NOT locked out. You can easily switch to this mode if you are in either Advanced or Semi-Advanced Mode, and switch back from your radio controls.
  • Auxiliary Audio Input: Allows for one direct audio input to your radio. In this mode you can listen to any audio source that is connected via the RCA audio input on this interface. The input is turned on from your radio buttons, so you can choose to listen to it at anytime. This input is a digital audio input. It is perfectly suited for a aftermarket external satellite radio, non-ipod mp3 player or for dvd audio instead of a FM transmitter. You may need a RCA to 3.5mm cable if you are connecting to a headphone jack output.

Notice about iPhone Use:

Your iPhone will display a message like this "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone Charging is not supported with this accessory. Would you like to turn on Airplane Mode to reduce audio interference? You will not be able to make or receive calls." when you plug it in. Once you see this message, just press "NO" and your phone will work fine.
